Wu Cai, Linming Dou, Guangyao Si, Yawei Hu

Engineering 2021, Volume 7, Issue 5,   Pages 687-700 doi: 10.1016/j.eng.2020.03.017

Abstract: common geological structure that has been revealed in the process of underground coal excavation and miningof static and dynamic stresses, which include two kinds of fault reactivations from: mining-inducedquasi-static stress (FRMSS)-dominated and seismic-based dynamic stress (FRSDS)-dominated.The results show that fault-induced coal burst is triggered by the superposition of high static stressHigh static stress comes from the interaction of the fault and the roof structure, and dynamic stress

Frontiers of Medicine 2008, Volume 2, Issue 4,   Pages 391-395 doi: 10.1007/s11684-008-0075-1

Abstract: To study the effects of early signal substances induced by heat stress in brains of Kunming mice, six-month-oldmice ( = 72) were pretreated with heat stress and subsequent ischemia/reperfusion by clipping of theirdifferent treatments, animals were randomly divided into four groups: (1) normal control group; (2) heat stressfollowed by ischemia and reperfusion group (HS/IR); (3) ischemia and reperfusion group (IR); (4) heat stressThe results indicate that heat stress can induce CREB expression, which in turn stimulates CGRP secretion

Unified description of sand behavior

Feng ZHANG, Bin YE, Guanlin YE

Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering 2011, Volume 5, Issue 2,   Pages 121-150 doi: 10.1007/s11709-011-0104-z

Abstract: In this paper, the mechanical behavior of sand, was systematically described and modeled with a elastoplastic model proposed by Zhang et al. [ ]. Without losing the generality of the sand, a specific sand called as Toyoura sand, a typical clean sand found in Japan, has been discussed in detail. In the model, the results of conventional triaxial tests of the sand under different loading and drainage conditions were simulated with a fixed set of material parameters. The model only employs eight parameters among which five parameters are the same as those used in Cam-clay model. Once the parameters are determined with the conventional drained triaxial compression tests and undrained triaxial cyclic loading tests, then they are fixed to uniquely describe the overall mechanical behaviors of the Toyoura sand, without changing the values of the eight parameters irrespective of what kind of the loadings or the drainage conditions may be. The capability of the model is discussed in a theoretical way.
